BELLY DANCE FOR THE MODERN WOPMAN- Every WEDNESDAY Night at 6:30 p.m. DON'T LIKE TO SWEAT? DON'T WANT TO PUT STRESS ON YOUR JOINTS AND KNEES? READ ON....
We’ll be taking a more modern approach to belly dancing going forward. If you prefer to get your exercise dancing rather than jumping around at a fast pace, this class may be what you’re looking for. So, we’re changing this class to incorporate all styles of belly dancing rather than keeping it as a strictly aerobics class. Remember you can still get a wonderful workout if you do moderate exercise for a longer period, rather than aerobics for shorter periods. The class will be broken down into separate sections which will be announced well ahead of time…. Some months, like October, we will do Bollywood, which is quite aerobic. At some point we’ll spend time on veil work, which is great for upper body conditioning. For most of the classes we’re going to concentrate very much on graceful, fluid moves that are not aerobic at all. Those months we’ll just call it Fusion Belly Dancing as it will take the best of all worlds, from the tried-and-true steps of Middle Eastern Dancing to newer patterns, updated, SLOWER music, and much more concentration on muscle control through undulations, isolations, shimmies, graceful arms, etc. This class is for women of all ages who want to feel the femininity and sensuality of belly dancing and work on keeping or getting their bodies flexible, gaining strength and tightening their core, relieving stress and learning to move fluidly.

During the classes we’ll also spend some time working on Veils, which is a great workout for the upper body, arms, and shoulders, and of course, we’ll go back to Bollywood/Bhangra from time to time. 'ULTRA GODDESS' BELLY DANCE FORMATION TEAM Wednesday Night – 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Don’t worry, we’re not going to buy or make expensive costumes and go around with our loose skin hanging out (for those who have loose skin), but we are going to take steps/patterns we learned from the classes and put them into a routine…. And then perform it for some of our private parties or fund raisers, or whatever, occasionally… the current beginner team already made its debut and was very well received! There’s no charge for this, but you have to be an active member of one or more of the belly dance classes…. After all, this time is for learning the routine, not for learning the moves…. You’ ll learn those in your classes.
